Introductions . . . 

 

I'm Dr. Emily Helvey and I am an avid performer of art song and chamber music and an enthusiastic educator. I have taught piano for over twenty years and I have university and professional teaching, coaching, and accompanying experience. Of particular interest to me is finding ways to meet each individual student's musical needs through their unique learning style and their own goals. I hope to instill in each student the training and zeal for music that will allow them to learn new music independently in the future and develop a personal appreciation for the art. I teach and rehearse in my home studio in Little Elm.

As a member of the Frisco Music Teachers Association, I am pleased to offer students many opportunities through this organization. Recent projects include preparing and directing an FMTA piano ensemble for the TMTA Conference and working with the North Texas Choral Conducting Symposium at UNT. In addition to performing and teaching, I homeschool my children and spend free moments studying Latin, reading, and baking.
